PREVALENCE OF VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY INPRE-DIALYTIC CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE PATIENTS ATTENDING A TERTIARY CENTRE IN NORTH-EAST INDIA

Introduction: Vitamin D deficiency has not only been associated with bone and muscular complications but also cancer, cardiovascular diseases, infection, maternal neonatal complications. There are many causes of vitamin including socio-demographic factors, the timing sun exposure, along drugs, skin, liver, kidney diseases. India is closer to equator so considered have a lower risk it so, studies implicating even in general population. no done on north-eastern Indian population document levels Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patients. Aim: To study prevalence pre-dialytic chronic disease. Material Methods:Observational was done. 120 CKD patients were included staging according MDRD formula. Total 25-OH measured by Enzyme Immuno Assay method. Results: 43.33% group found 26.66% had insufficiency. significant association between stages 4 5 CKD. any correlation age, sex, body mass index, serum calcium, or albumin.
